YOUR FINAL BID, SIR?
MITSUBISHI CORDIA TURBO
Let’s start with a bit of trivia. The Mitsubishi Cordia Turbo was the weapon of choice for the first celebrity race at the first Australian Grand Prix in Adelaide in 1985. Manufactured between 1982 and 1990, the front drive 1.8-litre turbo four, effectively the Starion’s little brother was a bit of fun to chuck around thanks to its light weight and relatively high output of 101 kilowatts. The Cordia Turbo didn’t suffer gulfs of turbo lag, and its boost gauge jumped at the slightest prod of the throttle. It featured MacPherson strut front and beam rear suspension and disc brakes. These days the Cordia Turbo is hard to find and has a cult following, both essential ingredients for future escalating prices. They are well worth the hunt.
