ROLLING DRAMAS

-

I can relate to Jon’s determination in this issue to build himself a rotisserie of sorts from bits he already had in his shed. As I followed his steps to finality I am thinking what I would be doing at each point in time. It seemed overdue, but he finally mentioned some reinforcement to the roof structure of the building.

Whilst not knowing the vintage of his garage, some of the very old ones would need some strengthening of the uprights that support the entire roof as well. Most of us have seen the occasional garage roof in a paddock out the back of ‘whoop whoop’, that has dropped to the ground. Still intact, it looks as if someone built it that way, but of course it was just that the frame collapsed from underneath it.

This kind of stuff can sometimes land you in all sorts of trouble; like watching one’s car start rolling down the driveway incline because the handbrake is not holding; and all because muggins left the engine running with the car in neutral, thinking it would only take a moment to reposition the other car he was working on any way! Eric Waples ED: Luckily for Jon the shed held up so he could continue toiling on his French delights.
