HALF-SAFE

I enjoyed Rob Blackbourn’s stor y about Half-Safe, the curiously named amphibious Jeep that circumnavigated most of the globe in the 1950s.

Following its adventures the much modified Jeep ended up being exhibited in the grounds of a private boy’s school in Perth – and it remains there today, ensconced in a giant glass case, far from the freedom it enjoyed some 70 years before.

Hopefully it provides inspiration to some kids, that even seemingly crazy ideas can be achieved. Paul Blank
