Snow dogs

Dog sledding is a popular activity at ski resorts; a chance to experience a different type of fun in the snow. One of the best is the Mountain Man Dog Sled Adventures at Sun Peaks Resort, Canada, owned and operated by Chris Schwanke, who has done plenty of dog sled races and has been involved in dog sled tours for well over a decade. Chris runs several tours a day over winter, with the most popular being the ‘Born to Run’ tour, which is 90 minutes of sheer pleasure in spectacular scenery. Guests meet the dogs before sitting in the two-person sled, and once all the dogs are harnessed, the musher gives the word and the sled is off, paw-powered through the snow. On this tour, guests can even have a go at mushing the sled, which is a rewarding experience.
