P&O launches two new pro­grams

The P&O Pa­cific Part­ner­ship has added two new com­mu­nity pro­grams, af­ter rais­ing over one mil­lion dol­lars in vol­un­tary con­tri­bu­tions from pas­sen­gers and also through spe­cial do­na­tions – in only four years. The pro­gram has al­ready funded kinder­gartens and health cen­tres in Van­u­atu, and the two new projects, in con­junc­tion with Save the Chil­dren Aus­tralia, will as­sist young chil­dren and women in Pa­pua New Guinea (PNG) and the Solomon Is­lands. In PNG, the New­born Baby and Birthing Kids Project will en­cour­age moth­ers to have their ba­bies in health cen­tres, while in the Solomons, the new Solomons Early Child­hood De­vel­op­ment Project will en­sure chil­dren grow up in pro­tec­tive en­vi­ron­ments that en­able them to re­alise their full po­ten­tial.
