Vacations & Travel - - Tried & Tested - By Sue Wallace

It’s no wonder those in need of a little pampering often fly from interstate to Melbourne’s Lyall Spa for indulgent treatments. The award-winning spa, located at the Lyall Hotel in leafy South Yarra, offers a variety of top-shelf massages and exotic spa ‘rituals’ that leave you feeling refreshed and renewed. The Lyall Signature Spa Ritual, which includes a Sodashi Prescriptive Massage and Pure Radiance Facial is two hours of sheer bliss. Magical hands knead away any knots and tight spots using unscented, vitamin-rich oils to balance, energise, soothe and reinvigorate your skin.

The massage is followed by a relaxing Pure Radiance facial complete with warm compresses to soften and brighten skin, a gentle rhythmic massage and a nurturing mask with rich herbal extracts to restore hydration levels. After two hours of pampering you feel ready to take on the world. The spa also uses Skeyndor products, a well-established Spanish cosmetic range that combines science with luxury, as well as Sodashi, a chemical-free Australian brand.

Another favoured ritual here is the Arabian Oud Renewal Therapy, which features a head-to-toe experience, helping with muscular tension, and skin radiance. It’s designed to calm and soothe the nervous system, invoking a deep sense of inner strength and clarity. The spa has eight treatment rooms including two hammam-style steam rooms. The hotel is also a restful haven where you can enjoy a glass of bubbles at the Champagne Bar to celebrate that sense of wellbeing.
