GLAMPING ON WILSON ISLAND, QUEENSLAND

Wilson Island located in the southern Great Barrier Reef is just 5.4 hectares in size – as big as five football fields. In November, the atoll was opened for adults-only overnight stays with the unveiling of nine permanent glamping tents and one long-house, with a combined capacity for just 18 people. Tents are discretely nestled within a forest of Pisonia trees and each features a kingsized bed, bath, bathroom and guest amenities. Guests are looked after during their stay by a host and a private chef, and are able to cater to dietary requirements. Wilson Island is reached by a 40-minute slow boat ride from Heron Island Resort. Prices start from $950 per couple per night.
