Hike for charity
The fundraising division of World Expeditions, Huma Charity Challenge, is running the Huma Kokoda Open Adventure Challenge along the Kokoda Trail in Papua New Guinea with world-leading adventurer, Heather Hawkins. The tour departs 17 August, 2020 from Port Moresby and will be led by Hawkins, author and ovarian cancer survivor who has completed six half marathons, seven ultra-marathons and 22 full marathons. Highlights include nine full days and 96 kilometres of trekking through the jungle of the Owen Stanley Ranges; immersion into local village life, staying near traditional villages and in secluded jungle camps; and a moving dawn service at Brigade
Hill battle site. Prices start from $4,290 per person, excluding international flights. Participants must raise a minimum of $500 for their preferred charity in order to participate. Huma Charity Challenge will support fundraisers through the process from providing fundraising tips, suggesting a suitable training regime, outlining gear requirements and managing all travel arrangements.
