FIERCE FOUNDERS

The women leading some of the most hyped beauty brands are as savvy as they are disruptive.

EMILY WEISS, GLOSSIER

If millennials had a beauty poster girl, it would most certainly be Emily Weiss. The 33-year-old founder and CEO of Glossier has amassed a modern-day beauty tribe whose members’ opinions inform the latest launches of her pink-packaged offerings, which include second-skin tints, no-fuss skincare and, most recently, fragrance.

CHARLOTTE TILBURY

Before creating her namesake line in 2013, the evercharming Tilbury was on speed dial for celebrities like Kate Moss (who is also a close friend) and Gisele Bündchen ahead of a red carpet appearances. Many of the products in her line, including Magic Cream and Eyes to Mesmerise, have garnered cult status, thanks to their expert textures and brilliant colour pay-off.

TIFFANY MASTERSON, DRUNK ELEPHANT

A relative newcomer, Drunk Elephant is the brainchild of Tiffany Masterson. The Texas-based no-nonsense skincare line marries both natural and synthetic ingredients and was one of the fastest growing skincare lines in Sephora, thanks to the efficacious formulas and clever packaging.

VICTORIA TSAI, TATCHA

Victoria Tsai has adapted the ancient rituals of Japanese geisha into an efficacious skincare regimen after her own struggle with acute dermatitis. Each product has a distinct purpose – an ethos derived from ancient Japanese culture – which has cultivated a dedicated following (including Kim Kardashian, who is a fan of the blotting papers).
