Family aid assistance
Legal assistance has been boosted for family violence victims in Gippsland.
Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing said the State Government has granted just over $52,000 to the Gippsland Community Legal Centre managed by Anglicare Victoria.
Ms Shing said the money aimed to increase the availability of family violence duty lawyers to assist victims in proceeding before the Magistrates’ Court.
She said the government had committed $1.2 million to increase legal services for family violence victims across the State this year.
