Yes to amended housing project
Five houses will be developed on a property in Lardner Rd, Drouin after Baw Baw Shire Council approved an amended application.
The planning permit had previously been refused by council for the development of six dwellings.
Amended plans were submitted to council in April which showed one dwelling had been removed from the design.
The application is now for four two bedroom dwellings and one three bedroom dwelling.
Planners said the new plans were now consistent with state and local planning policies and recommended the application be approved.
The amended plans also included one visitor car parking space on site and an increased private open space area.
Cr Mikaela Power said there were some objections to the original proposal.
“Whilst they don’t object to the proposal now, they had some concerns about the location of buildings to the boundary that could cause some difficulties to them as neighbours,” she said.
Cr Peter Kostos said when this application first came to council it was for a larger development and there were a lot of objections.
“This will now appease the objectors and concerns,” he said.
Cr Gerard Murphy said his concern was with the address of the proposed development.
Cr Murphy said access to the property and dwellings would be from Park View Rd.
He said one house would continue to have access from Lardner Rd but the new development would be from Park View Rd.
