Reigning premier pushed

-

Cora Lynn pushed away in the final term to account for a determined Nilma-Darnum side, 11-13 (79) to 7-6 (48).

The Cobras edged out to a handy lead before Ben Campbell pulled one back to give the Bombers confidence heading into quarter time.

The Bombers matched it with the Cobras in a low scoring affair, facing a deficit of 10 points at half time and with an 11 point margin at three-quarter-time, an upset was on the cards.

Ryan Gillis was the focal point up forward, finishing with four majors, while Nathan Muratore defended well to earn best afield honours.

Nicholas Helsby, Brady White, Ricky Clark and Nathan Gillis found plenty of the ball in the midfield, while Lochie Peluso was also lively.

Nicholas Wilcox kicked two goals to be among the better players for the Bombers. He was supported by Jeremy Smith, Nathan Campbell, Thomas Campbell, Nicholas Murray and Jean Bezzene.
