Almosty all models are still on the La Nina and IOD- band wagon for winter and spring, but the current situation is neutral for these phenomena.

The Equatorial Pacific Ocean finally returned to a neutral state this week.

The Pacific Ocean undersea is primed to be a La Niña and is the only indicator that currently points to one.

Of the other big five indicators, SOI, central Pacific surface temperature, cloud at the date line and trade winds, all of these are currently neutral.

A wiggly trace of cool water observed in the eastern Equatorial Pacific could be the start of this year's La Niña.

There has been lower air pressure and favourable frontal activity across Victoria this month, which has aided the good start to the season.
