Warragul over Bayles

The Mid Gippsland junior badminton match of the week was played between Warragul Red and Bayles in A grade.

Bayles started well winning the first game and then they lost the next game but were still ahead on aces.

But with the last doubles, even though Bayles won the game they didn’t get as many aces as Warragul, giving them the advantage going into the singles.

Ryan from Warragul then evened up the games with a win in his singles.

Liam from Bayles fought back the lead with a win in his singles, so it came down to the last game of the night between Katelyn and Ben and Katelyn showed her years of experience and won for her singles for her Warragul team.

The doubles tournament for the association is coming up on Friday.

It is to be played at two venues of Warragul and Drouin. The A and D grade will be played at Warragul and C and E grades will be played at Drouin.

The start time will be at 7pm and venues will be open at 6.45pm.
