Board expands to 10
Community College Gippsland has grown its community board of directors from eight to t10 to increase its diversity of skills and knowledge in overseeing development of the not-for-profit adult education and training provider.
Board chairman Des Williams said the board was delighted to welcome Marianne Shearer and Jemma Swan.
“Marianne Shearer brings a wealth of experience as a senior executive supporting general practice education and workforce development in acute and primary health.
“She has strong leadership and change management skills and has designed sustainable health solutions through successful partnerships with communities and service providers.”
“Jemma Swan is an economic analyst and works in the private sector predominantly in the fields of health and social policy. She grew up in both east and west Gippsland and has a strong interest in youth engagement.”
Chief executive officer Sue Geals said board roles were all voluntary with members providing personal time and energy to progress CCG’s activities in the community.
“We are very pleased to have such a diverse level of expertise in our board who are all committed to furthering adult education and training across Gippsland.”
Ms Geals thanked retiring board member Vivienne Helps for her contribution to the board over the past five years.
Current CCG Board members are: Des Williams (chairman), Andrew Penton, Elaine Cuthbertson, Iain Luck, Jeanne Van Der Geest Dekker, Jenny Carmichael, Julie Ettery, Nick Dudley, Jemma Swan and Marianne Shearer.
