Bunyip remain at summit

Bunyip maintained their four point advantage at the top of the Ellinbank District football ladder with a strong win over Lang Lang.

The Bulldogs gradually increased their lead throughout and were always in control on the way to winning 16-21 (117) to 3-3 (21).

The floodgates opened in the final term where the Bulldogs kept the Tigers scoreless, and the damage could have been greater had it been for a better return than 5-8.

Lachlan Petch continues to enjoy his change of role, booting four goals, while other prominent players for the Bulldogs were Michael Whyte, Kris Bedford, Jack Blakey, coach Brad Walker and Michael Laszczyk.

Joseph Dalgleish, Callum Soutar, William McGindle, Sam Kendall, James Hawker and Jack Brickwood tried hard for the Tigers.

Bulldogs bite Tigers

Bunyip also scored a strong win in the Reserves, 16-17 (113) to 2-2 (14).

The Bulldogs gradually increased their lead across the first three quarters before scoring 7-3 to one behind in the final term to blow the margin out.

Josh Lambert booted five goals in a best afield effort. He was backed up by Steve Berryman, Josh Masset, Shane Smith, Anthony Haddrick and Tyson Huston.

Lang Lang was best served by Dan Kirby, John Emery, Gavin O’Hayon, Brent Miller and Anthony Meyer.

Bulldogs comfortabl­e

Five goals from Harrison Nadenbousc­h and four majors from Dylan Gallasch helped Bunyip to a comfortabl­e win in the under 18s, 13-10 (88) to 3-9 (27).

Other better players for the Bulldogs were Matthew O’Halloran, Trent Jayamaha and Sam Michie.

Lang Lang’s best were Eden Shepherd, Trent Harvie, Brent Miller, Brandon Dalli and Ethan Whittle.

Bulldogs work hard

Bunyip were made to work hard for their win in the under 16s over a spirited Poowong side.

The last time these sides met the margin was greater than 80 points, with the Magpies showing some improvemen­t in the 5-14 (44) to 4-3 (27) result.

Brodie Stokes, Rhys Nightingal­e, Jye Wallin, Regan Hodge and Pickthall Jacob helped the Bulldogs to victory.

Josh McNally, Mitchel Van’T Hof, Ethan Lester, Liam Blight, Nick Cunningham and Lachlan De Kleuver kept the Magpies in the contest.
