Buln thump Saints

Buln Buln recorded a big win over Nyora, 2413 (157) to 3-6 (24).

The Lyrebirds raced out to a 35-point lead and had the match in their keeping at half time.

Buln Buln players were lining up for their turn in front of goal in the final term, with the Lyrebirds kicking 10 goals to no score to blow the margin out.

Mitch Nobelius and Jack Nuttall led the way, each finishing with five goals. Matt Gray and Sam Langford, who chipped in with four majors each, backed them up.

Simon Dawson and James Davidson were also prominent.

Robert Malberg, Aiden Cumberland, Tim Burns, Dylan Heylen, Jacob Bohmer and Daniel Burns did their best to stem the tide for the Saints.

Lyrebirds in tight one

Buln Buln maintained a narrow lead throughout to win the Reserves 11-9 (75) to 9-4 (58).

Nicholas Castle kicked three goals to be among the better players for the Lyrebirds. Jake Pierrehumb­ert, Kain Jackson, Bradley Fusinato, Ben Wilson and Brandon Allen assisted him.

Troy McPherson, Stanton Till, Andrew Cavanagh, Alex Brown, Brendan Vivian and Luke Zwiersen ensured the Saints were always in the contest.

Undermanne­d Saints thumped

Numbers won out as a severely undermanne­d Nyora were thumped in the under 18s, 20-22 (142) to 0-0 (0).

Brandon Allen, Hayden Baker and Toby Bransgrove each booted three goals, with the Lyrebirds spreading the load with 11 goal scorers.

Nicholas Castle, Jarrod Castle, Reece Campbell, Callum Hobson, Leyton Willis and Jake Pierrehumb­ert were also able to do as they pleased.

For Nyora it was Austin Gurnett, Jack Fowles, Jake Henry, Jacob Lesjak, Jack Ellams and Fraser Boys leading the way against the odds.
