Demons ensure fourth place finish

Koo wee rup recorded a comfortabl­e victory over Longwarry to ensure a fourth placed finish.

The Demons kicked five goals to one in the first quarter in taking control of the first half. The Demons had opened up a 41point lead at the main break on the way to winning 14-14 (98) to 88 (56).

To the Crows credit they played the game out, matching it with the Demons in the second half.

Tim Miller kicked four goals for the Demons, while Steven Greaves and Robert Beswick each chipped in with three majors.

Travis Bindley, Ben Collins and Ben Kerrigan were also prominent.

Stephen Hawkins and Braydon McHugh led the scoring for Longwarry with three goals each.

They were supported by Jesse Davies, Troy Lehman, Josh Bourke, Aaron Serong and Chris Karlis.

Demons in form

Koo wee rup played into some good form heading into the finals with a comfortabl­e victory over Longwarry in the Reserves, 15-14 (104) to 5-4 (34).

The Crows threatened early, matching the Demons in the first term. But from there the Demons took control with eight goals to two behinds across the next half ensuring the match was in their keeping at the final change of ends.

Rhys Morgan kicked five goals, while Luke Edwards, Scott Oliver, Alex Armstrong, Cody Miller, Daniel Arfi and Patrick Lawson were also among the better players.

Ryan Wouters, Jeremy Hill, Sam Batchelor, Brendon Parnaby and Bohdi Van der Pas kept the Crows in the game early.

Demons broken

Koo wee rup suffered a heartbreak­ing two -point loss in the under 16s at Nar Nar Goon.

The Demons held a narrow one point advantage at half time in a low scoring affair, before the Goon kicked out to a 10-point lead at three-quarter-time.

The deficit proved too much to overcome, with the Demons finishing two-points short, 4-9 (33) to 4-7 (31).
