Movement in C grade ladder

It was the last week of the home and away season in Mid Gippsland junior badminton and there was movement on the ladder in C grade, with Bayles making the finals by one premiership point.

The match of the week involved the A grade Bayles team for the second week in a row, this week against Warragul Red.

While Bayles started well in the first doubles, Warragul came back winning the next two games giving Warragul a handy lead.

Going into the singles, Kyle had struggled to beat Ryan to even up the game score but Ryan actually gained more aces for his team.

Liam then worked hard to put his team into the lead, leaving it up to the last singles to decide the night.

Katelyn and Ben went point for point, with Katelyn winning the first set then went away with the game in the second set, giving Warragul the win for the night.

This will be interesting heading into next week as they play each other again in the first semi final.

Ellinbank Gold have had to withdraw from finals due to family commitments, with the committee deciding to promote the next placed team in their place.
