Reigning premiers Cora Lynn won through to defend their title, with a strong second half setting up their second semi final win over Bunyip, 12-14 (86) to 8-8 (56).

The Bulldogs had entered the match with some confidence, having beaten Cora Lynn quite comfortabl­y early in the season, but will now have to bounce back through the preliminar­y final to earn another shot at the Cobras for the ultimate prize.

Bunyip matched the Cobras in a tightly contest first half, trailing just three points at half time, but the Cobras flexed their muscle after the break to pull away and take their place in another grand final.

Bunyip advanced through to the Reserves grand final with victory over the previously undefeated Neerim-Neerim South in the second semi final.

The Cats were left to rue missed opportunit­ies, with a 2-10 return to threequart­er-time keeping the Bulldogs in the match.

change, the Bulldogs had a sniff and didn't let the opportunit­y slip. They banged through five goals while keeping the Cats to just one-point to win 75 (47) to 2-11 (23).

Cora Lynn’s under 18 and under 16 sides will join their senior counterpar­ts on grand final day after winning through in the junior grades.

Nar Nar Goon continued their run against the odds to claim a thrilling first semi final by a solitary point in a match that well and truly had it all.

Having not been expected to advance further that the first week of finals, the sixth-placed Goon again pulled out all the stops to score over Koo wee rup in a cliffhange­r, 7-8 (50) to 7-7 (49) to advance to the preliminar­y final against the odds.

Warragul Industrial­s kept their title fight alive in the Reserves, comfortabl­y accounting for Nar Nar Goon.

Garfield were too strong for Dusties in the under 18s, while Nar Nar Goon also kept their hopes alive in the under 16s.
