Dusties go back-to-back

-

Warragul Industrials took control in the first half on the way to securing the Reserves premiership over Bunyip, 11-10 (76) to 3-4 (22).

The Dusties kicked the first seven goals of the match to head into half time with a commanding 47-point lead and ensure there was no chance of Bunyip upsetting their run at back-toback premierships.

The match was more competitive after half time, with Bunyip scoring three goals to the Dusties’ four.

Each side managed just the one goal in a torrid thrid quarter. Bunyip scored the first major at the 17 -minute mark before Dusites hit back with a goal of their own from the goal square.

Asnap from the pocket early in the fourth quarter ensured Bunyip would not make a miracle come back.

The Bulldogs scored two consolation goals before coach Shane Ingham stopped their run with a goal of his own.

A free kick for high contact saw Dusties put an exclamation mark on an emphatic win.

Ingham led the way with three goals, while Troy Kneebone, Damien Mullen and Scott Lindsay all kicked multiples.

Drew Davey, Cory Melbourne, Rhett O’Hara, Damien Dawson and Troy Hemming were also prominent.

Matthew Sloan, Daniel Wright, Sam Dowie, SamDavies and Rickie Crockett battled hard for Bunyip.
