Alliance in the arts market

-

The Baw Baw Arts Alliance is launching an arts market at the Trafalgar Railway Station.

The market will be held in HMS Victory Park adjacent to the Trafalgar Railway Station and Art Space 1 and 2, on the first Saturday morning of each month, from October to March.

The market is the brainchild of BBAA member Wendy Hitchins, who has worked closely with the Warragul Arts market co-ordinator, Jessie McLennan.

The Trafalgar market will be a sister market to the successful Warragul Market which is celebrating its fifth birthday.

Both are free cultural events where visitors can view and experience what the local arts community has to offer.

Artists showcase their unique handmade art works including painting, printmaking, illustrations, sculpture, ceramics, mosaics, photography, woodwork, furniture, fibre work, knitting, metalwork, handmade jewellery and clothing.

Visitors can also view demonstrations, live music and performers, take part in handson creative arts activities and talk directly with artists about their work.

It offers a venue for artists to build networks, to collaborate with other artists and to be part of a creative community.

Visit the Facebook page @Trafalgar Arts Market for application forms and stallholder information.

Performers and volunteers can contact the organisers at trafalgarartsmarket@ gmail.com.
