Bank grants for clubs

The latest quarterly round of community sponsorships by the Drouin and District Community Bendigo Bank brought the total distributed for the past year to $250,000.

In the past two years almost $540,000 has been given as support for district organisations and sporting groups.

The recent recipients of grants totalling $30,000 were:Warragul Art Group: annual art show held at the Yarragon hall.

Committee for Drouin: towards printing of a book showcasing significant trees in the town.

Warragul Hub: assist with kitchen fit out and café equipment for the hub expected to open in North Rd next year.

Longwarry Cricket Club: support for the club’s senior and junior teams.

Warragul Croquet Club: annual tournament in October.

Western Park Cricket Club: towards cost of two covers for pitch areas.

Ju You Kai Judo Club: assist with the purchase of judo suits for members of the club formed at Drouin this year.

Warragul Cricket Club: naming rights sponsorship for the 2016-2017 season.

Drouin Cricket Club: naming rights for the upcoming season.

St Vincent de Paul Society: assist with the cost of Christmas hampers.

Drouin Combined Services Clubs: children’s activities for Australia Day celebrations.
