Special Story Time Sessions for Seniors

Celebrate the Seniors’ Festival by attending one of our Story Time sessions for children and grandparen­ts or senior carers.

Share a cuppa, books, rhymes and songs with your special little person. No bookings are required.

Warragul Library: Tuesday, 4 October and Friday, 7 October, 10.30am - 11am.

Drouin Library: Wednesday, 5 October, 10.30am 11am.

Table Tennis for Seniors

Monday, 3 October from 9am - 11.30am.

Thursday, 6 October from 9am - 11.30am.

Come along and play, laugh and have fun in a non-competitiv­e way with the Drouin Keenagers.

Where: Bellbird Park Indoor Centre, 270 Settlement Rd, Drouin.

Cost: free, includes morning tea.

Baw Baw Shire Seniors’ Walk

Tuesday, 4 October, from 9am - 2pm.

Guided walks for active seniors around tracks in Noojee.

Walks start at the Noojee Heritage Centre where you will have an opportunit­y to find out about the area’s rich timber history and browse their historic displays.

Walks of different lengths and grades will be offered.

Please note that this event is not suitable for those with limited mobility.

Pick-ups: Bus pickups from Drouin train station (V/Line bus stop) and West Gippsland Regional Arts Centre Warragul (no self-drive).

Cost: free, includes morning tea and light lunch.

Seniors’ Movie

Wednesday, 5 October, at 11am.

The movie is ‘Bridget Jones’s Baby’, starring Renee Zelweger, Colin Firth and Emma Thompson.

The continuing advertures of British publishing executive Bridget Jones as she enters her 40s when she finds herself involved in a love triangle.

Where: Warragul Cinema, Cinema Arcade, Victoria Street, Warragul.

Cost: $5, includes a Choctop ice cream.

Bookings essential: Tickets must be purchased prior to the event at Baw Baw Shire Customer Service Centres at 33 Young Street, Drouin or Civic Place, Warragul.

Lifeball

Thursday, 6 October, from 10am to 11.30am.

Thursday, 13 October, from 10am to 11.30am.

Lifeball is a combinatio­n of basketball and netball, designed for people over the age of 50. Lifeball helps to improve hand-eye coordinati­on, balance and mobility.

This non-competitiv­e game will keep you active and still allow you to have fun!

Where: Bellbird Park Indoor Centre, 270 Settlement Rd, Drouin.

Cost: free, includes tea and coffee after the session.

Seniors’ Golf Tournament

Tuesday, 11 October, from 9am, shotgun start.

Mens and ladies 4 ball best ball stableford 9 or 18 holes.

Where: Trafalgar Golf Course, Gibsons Rd, Trafalgar.

Cost: $20 per person for 18 holes or $15 per person for 9 holes. All prices include a two course lunch.

Drouin Senior Citizens’ Club
