Badminton season concludes
Mid Gippsland Badminton Association grand finals were contested recently.
Warragul Black defeated Drouin Maroon in section three, although the games were a lot closer than the end results appear.
Ellinbank Blue had finished fourth on the ladder at the end of the home and away season, and progressed through to the grand final to win the premiership.
A good crowd were entertained by some great badminton in the section one grand final.
Labertouche were going for their fifth consecutive premiership but went down to Warragul. Results: Section 3: Warragul Black 5/283 d Drouin Maroon 1/229; Section 2: Ellinbank Blue 5/297 d Drouin 1/245; Section 1: Warragul 3/265 d Labertouche 3/240
The MGBA is comprised of four clubs, being Labertouche, Drouin, Warragul and Ellinbank.
MGBA conducted a Level 1 coaching course, which saw 14 participants attend. The course was part funded by Badminton Victoria.
Premiership teams received their pennant flags at the presentation night.
The MGBA thanked all members who played the 2016 season and made the Association what it is today and sponsors for their support.
