Perfect conditions for annual tournament

Perfect conditions greeted golfers for the first two days of Warragul’s 97th annual tournament.

There were good fields in both events with the mens stroke on Saturday commencing the week followed by the mixed on Sunday.

In the 36 hole trophy young Drouin golfer Lachlan Bambridge had two rounds of 72 for a total of 144 to win the scratch event from Alan Manley on 152.

In the handicapp Mirboo visitor Simon McInnes on 142 had a two shot win over Peter Earles on 144.

In Sunday’s American mixed the husband and wife combinatio­n of John and Janine Williams had the best return of 65.625 from Dean Bubeck/Jo De Jong 69.5 and Leigh Herbel/Debbie Corstorphi­n 72.625.

Best scratch score was Alan manley/Lyn Morrison on 76
