Neerim District too good

Division 5

Neerim District 6/206 def. Drouin 10/175

Neerim District proved to be too good for Drouin after setting a very competitive target of 206.

Anthony McCann and Warren Darcy recorded a pair of 50s with Neil Olsson and Davin George contributing 21 and 32 respectively.

Kye Osseweyer delivered a tidy seven over spell that included four maidens and returned 2/16. Bailey Osseweyer chipped in with 2/20.

In pursuit Clint Osseweyer (51) lacked support from his top order leaving it to Kym Osseweyer (49) to steer the middle part of the chase.

From a strong position at 5/150 the Hawks ran out of puff and finished up all out for 175.

Beau Ellis secured the last three wickets to finish with 3/28. Earlier on Grant Pearson (2/18), Warren Darcy (2/32), and Anthony McCann (2/15) all did their bit to help the Stags to victory.

Jacks charge late

Jindivick 9/140 def. Yarragon 7/134 Choosing to bat first Yarragon would probably have liked to have an extra 20 or 30 runs on the board at the completion of their overs.

Steven Green was their best performer with 52 retired not out. Both their openers began well before falling with scores in the mid-teens and a couple of mix ups running between wickets proved costly.

Thrown the new ball Brad Gnaden proved to be quite effective with figures of 2/20 off eight overs.

William Kilday and Madlyn Borsato provided some early headaches for the Jumping Jacks before John Rasmussen (46 not out) got his side back on track.

Jake Rabl (27 not out) and Oxley Huson (35) made a late charge that saw the visitors home with overs to spare.

Kilday (3/15) and Borsato (3/27) shared the bowling honours with Green also picking up a couple.

Crows finish early

Longwarry 8/202 def. Warragul 10/46 Evan Wright (52 retired not out) and Jesse Lafrantz (22) got the Crows away to a positive start with Chris Butler also able to capitalise with 50.

The wheels fell off a bit late in the innings but by then the home side already had set an intimidating total. Cameron Smith and Lachlan Carroll each claimed two scalps.

The Gulls found runs hard to come by from the outset with Beau Ridgeway and Brodie Hamilton delivering fiery spells. Hamilton came away with 3/15 off eight overs.

Jesse Lafrantz was the main destroyer however with an amazing four over spell that saw him claim 5/15 and brought the game to an early conclusion.
