Hallora pile on intimidating total

total in their match against Jindivick.

Aside from Ward and Bayne the Stags struggled to get going with only Warren Darcy (35) and Brad Fusinato (32) able to reach double figures.

Jack Braddick and Matt Price battled hard in the face of the onslaught to be the pick of the bowlers. Price finished with 3/93 while Braddick fared slightly better with 2/62. Rod Mikkelsen chipped in with 2/57 in his first outing of the season.

Faced with an uncomfortable 16 over session before stumps Mick Dixon (two not out) and Aaron Larkman (6) were content with just keeping the ball out. Unfortunately, Larkman won’t get to resume on day two after being dismissed late in the day.

With a wealth of experience and considerable depth in their batting the Jumping Jacks will be quietly confident of taking the points and maintaining their unbeaten record.

Panthers close in

Yarragon 3/110 vs. Bunyip 10/143 A 102-run third wicket stand between Arthur Begg and Michael Haddrick has lifted the Bulls to a respectable total.

Begg dominated the scoring, reaching the boundary 13 times in his innings of 76. Haddrick provided valuable support at the other end as he worked the ball around the field on his way to 34.

At 3/121 the visitors were well placed to set a defendable target. Yarragon skipper Jacklyn Borsato had other ideas however, combining with Gaige White to run through the Bunyip middle order

Unable to muster any resistance the Bulls were all out just past the half way point of the innings. Borsato snared 3/7 in a brief four over spell along with White who claimed 2/13.

John Malacarne led the chase for the Panthers with a subdued 46. With the in-form Jake Green (24 not out) at the crease the home side will look to press their advantage with the possibility of an outright not out of the question.

Park anchors Buln

A well measured knock from Rob Park anchored the innings for the Lyrebirds at the weekend.

After losing his opening partner with the score on zero, Park worked hard to form partnerships with the top order, taking the score to 5/130 when he was dismissed for 53.

Daniel Sell kept the scorers busy hitting several boundaries in his handy 40.

Wayward bowling from the Titans proved costly with extras adding 30 to the total.

Cameron Riley kept things tight with the new ball returning 3/47 off 20 overs including five maidens. Glen Johnston chipped in with 3/46 and Craig Cousin offered good support with 2/31.

With just a single over to face the home side sent Mark Cousin and Cameron Riley in as night watchmen.

The Lyrebirds will need a big effort from their bowlers if they are to defend what appears to be a below par score.

The Titans will look to Mark and Craig Cousin along with Ray Evans to get them across the line.
