Longwarry bounces back into form

Division 3: Longwarry 20/108 defeated Trafalgar 0/66.

Longwarry travelled to Trafalgar and turned their form around from last week to come home with a convincing 42-shot win.

Simon Counsel, Judy Eastwell, Boss Mitchell and Hank Metselaar (skip) defeated P. Watson’s team 27/11.

Longwarry welcomed back Simmo and got off to a steady start picking up small numbers before tea. After the break the team came out and played well together with Boss sliding into his new role with ease, to record a convincing 16-shot win in a great team effort.

Ian Peterson, Lloyd Maisey, Ken White and Russell White (skip) defeated F. Farrugia’s team 27/25.

Longwarry went into the tea break four shots down, but came out and won 10 of the next 11 ends to be leading by nine shots going into the last end.

Longwarry’s lack of match fitness saw them lose seven shots on the last end and to crawl over the line by two shots.

Glenn Pask, Elio Meggetto, Ken Towt and Barry White (skip) defeated T. Fraser’s team 26/14.

After overcoming their usual slow start, Longwarry played a great team game to win by 12 shots.

Mark Serong, Grant Pask, Brian Hennessy and Slim Eastwell (skip) defeated D. Horner’s team 28/16.

In a big turnaround from last week and a few weary heads, Longwarry played a good team game to lead throughout and win by 12 shots.

Division 6: Longwarry 49 defeated Thorpdale 39

Longwarry travelled to Thorpdale and in a close game won by 10 shots.

Eddie Bluck, John Watts, Eric Peterson and Rob Purvis (skip) lost to D. Eve’s team 21/24.

After a tight game, Longwarry lost the last two ends to go down by 3 shots.

Graham Sparks, Peter Smethurst, Gerry Wakefield and Brian Mason (skip) defeated G. Savage’s team 28/15.

After going to the tea break with scores all tied up, the young fit Longwarry team, once again came out and played a good team game after tea to win by 13 shots.
