In reply the home side were on the back foot early as William Pyle ran through their top order. He ended the day with a miserly 4/9 from seven overs.

Lachlan and Harrison Pyle tidied up late in the day with 2/19 and 2/9 respective­ly but weren’t quite able to stop the combine passing the target.

Gulls on track

Warragul 8/204 (cc) vs. Jindivick Warragul are on track to record their first win of the summer after a solid batting effort against Jindivick.

Nicholas Mulqueen led the way for the Gulls with 79 receiving valuable support from John Mulqueen (27) and Ty Miller (31 retired).

Liam Giliam held up the tail with 27 not out.

Jess Sanders battled hard to be the pick of the bowlers with 3/20 off eight overs.

Choosing to bat first the Kangas got away to a flying start with Jeff Ward (40) striking out at the bowlers with four fours and three sixes.

The Hawks gained some momentum throughout the middle part of the innings with only Brayden Notman (14) able to get a start.

It was a real team effort with the ball as five bowlers shared the spoils claiming two wickets apiece.

With 11 overs to face the visitor made their way to 1/28 with Stephen Bleazby (17 not out) and Hayden Beca (seven not out) set to take up the chase on day two.
