The capping of the crowd for the Beyond Valley Music Festival at Lardner Park at the end of the month to 11,000 has almost led to the “full house” sign going up already.

Principal of event organiser incognitus Craig Lovett said that by late last week only about 250 tickets remained.

The festival will be held from December 28 to January 1 with patrons camping on site during the event.

Mr Lovett said the festival owners had decided to reduce the crowd size from the initially proposed 16,000, the number that attended the first festival at Lardner Park last year, to help prove the venue was the right place for the event in the long term.

The last of six community briefing and consultation sessions with district residents will be held tomorrow night to detail the final plans and conduct of the festival.

He said the sessions had been a great benefit to all parties and the local people had been happy to engage with the organisers.

“Most people’s concerns have been satisfactorily addressed”.

A number of meetings were also held with district businesses to discuss opportunities for them to benefit from the staging of Beyond the Valley at Lardner.

The venue has been a hive of activity over recent weeks as facilities are set up to stage concerts and accommodate and service patrons.

Baw Baw Shire issued a pope permit for the event on Friday.
