Jindivick (7-163) def. Western Park (160):

Jindivick continued their exceptiona­l season with a three-wicket win over Western Park; the win ensuring that they remain undefeated heading into the Christmas break.

In pursuit of 160, the Jumping Jacks began nervously with Caleb Boswell dismissed by Dave Burn for just four.

Jordan Smith and Jordan Larkman then combined to steady the ship – but they were dismissed within quick succession to have the score reading 3-46.

Harry Moore struck 95 against Western Park in round one but was unable to replicate that success and at that stage the score was 6-96 and Jindivick were in a lot of trouble.

However, Steve Dillon strode to the crease and almost single-handedly took the game away from Western Park, striking a sparkling unbeaten 73 to carry his side home.

Burn’s haul of 3-39 wasn’t enough to stem the flow of runs and after 64 overs Jindivick reached their target.

Hawks in tight win

Drouin (8-151) def. GarfieldTy­nong (143):

Drouin ground out a tight two-wicket win over GarfieldTy­nong in their round eight clash, with the Hawks’ lower order rescuing the side following wobbles from the top and middle order.
