Man shocked by wood throwing

-

A Trafalgar man was in fear after two incidents near Garfield last week when passing motorists allegedly threw pieces of wood at him.

Police said two vehicles described by the man were possibly involved in incidents of dangerous driving in Trafalgar earlier the same day.

Police said the Trafalgar man was travelling east along the old Princes Hwy near Garfield between 8pm and 8.30pm last Monday night.

Police said the man stopped at a rest stop on the old highway when a dark green sedan, also travelling east, stopped next to the man’s vehicle and occupants threw a piece of gum at his vehicle.

The piece of wood was about 90 centimetres long and 50mm in diameter.

The wood struck the man’s driver side mirror causing it to smash.

Police said the green vehicle drove off in an easterly direction.

The victim got out of his car and was assessing the damage when a second vehicle, a white dual cab utility also travelling east, stopped and occupants threw an object at the man’s vehicle.

The incidents caused about $2000 damage to the man’s car.

Police said the victim left the scene immediately in fear the vehicles would return.

Police had received reports earlier in the day that two vehicles fitting the same description were involved in donuts and burnouts in Trafalgar.
