Hallora v Drouin Gold A solid 37 retired by young gun Chris Diston helped Hallora to 7-119 off 35 overs at the weekend.

Diston was made to work hard, hitting the one boundary, but was patient against tight bowling from Ben Dixon (3-16) and Angus Hales (2-15) respectively. Longwarry v Drouin An incredible spell of bowling from Liam Quarrell has propelled Longwarry into the box seat of their match against Buln Buln.

Quarrell took 4-2 off his six overs, with only the one of those off the bat, to help reduce the Lyrebirds to 70 all out with help from Liam MacDonald (2-14).

In reply, Longwarry have lost an early wicket to be 1-10 from six overs. Ellinbank/Warragul v Bunyip Terrific knocks from Charlie Stern (60*), and Matt Dare (50) has given Ellinbank/Warragul a massive total to defend on the quick Ellinbank outfield.

The pair were terrific in notching maiden fifties, as the merged side made 215 all out off their 36 overs.

This total may have been even higher if it wasn’t for some tight bowling from Liam Howard and Sam Christie, who each took 220 to give the Bulls hope. Neerim District v Garfield-Tynong A patient innings from Neerim has given them a score to defend heading into next week.

The Stags made 7-77 off their 40, as Cooper Orwin made a patient 22 not out.

Wickets were shared for the Titans, who made the trip and bowled extremely tight and diligently. Yarragon v Western Park A good knock from Jacob Konstanty (33 off 58) has given Western Park a slight edge over Yarragon.

Konstanty helped his team recover from a collapse of 3-3 through the middle, as the Parkers made 9-129 off 38.1.

Ben Allsop was the pick of the bowlers for Yarragon taking 3-14 in a tight spell, while Heath Kirkham took 2-5 in aid of Allsop’s performance.

Bunyip v Longwarry Jonah Serong took the mantle for the highest junior score this season, making 73 as he helped the Crows to 184 off their 40 overs.

Serong was outstanding, with aid from Aidan Fox (34) and Blake Kahan (25), who pushed the mark up to what may be a winning score.

Dylan Gallasch was easily the pick of the bowlers with 3-11 off his seven, however they will need more contributors next week if they are to win. Garfield-Tynong v Warragul An unbeaten 54 from skipper Matt Bow has led Warragul to 170 against GarfieldTynong.

Bow’s terrific knock set up Jack Buckingham (30) and Matt Garvey (29) to flourish, as the Gulls took advantage of the open spaces of the Tynong ground.

Brayden Ridler was the pick of the bowlers with 2-9 off his six, while Alphy Hosie took 2-34 in support. Jindivick/Neerim v Drouin Eddie McGillivray made 51 as Jindivick/Neerim posted a reasonable total of 117.

McGillivray was the catalyst for regenerating the innings after his side was 2-1, with he and Heath Darcy (22), putting on 47, despite two wickets from Bailey Osseweyer.

Hallora/Ellinbank had the bye.
