Jumping Jacks through to one day final

The Jumping Jacks sit nine points clear of second placed Garfield/Tynong who they clash with in the final round of 40 over matches this weekend while the Stags have a chance of setting up a re-match in the final if they can overcome sixth placed Drouin.

Buln too strong

Buln Buln 8/219(cc) Garfield/Tynong 7/210(cc)

In the highest scoring match of the round Garfield/Tynong were unable to defend a competitiv­e total against Buln Buln.

Choosing to bat first the Titans made a good start with Thomas Bulenok (24) looking dangerous before being struck on the pads.

Stuart Horsburgh (59) dominated the scoring in a valuable second wicket partnershi­p however his dismissal triggered a minor collapse that saw the visitor lose 4/21.

Glen Johnston (32) and Vlad Klaric (23) steadied for the combine helping their side see out the allotted overs.

Sean Symes (2/32) and Andrew Burdett (2/46) were the best of the bowlers.

In pursuit, the Lyrebirds started in positive fashion before

def losing Rob Park for 39. Sean Symes was next to go, falling one short of the half century with 49.

Matthew Burdett (31) and Daniel Sell (35) kept up the scoreboard pressure to help the home side reach the target late in the day.

Thomas Bulenok finished with career best figures of 4/46 and was well supported by Chris Greenal with 2/41.

Madden fires up

Yarragon 5/147 10/142

Bunyip staged a determined fightback after being met by a fired-up Clint Madden.

Madden tore through the Bulls top order to have them reeling at 5/20.

Marcus Haddrick (17) and Jeremiah Whibley (32) offered stern resistance ahead of William Papley (23) and Ben Stewart who top scored with 46.

Madden finished with 4/15 off eight overs and was well backed by Dale Norton who claimed 3/39.

In reply Yarragon suffered an early setback losing Norm Evans for 11.

Carlo Ierfone (40) was joined by Dale Norton (61) and the

def. Bunyip pair added 94 for the second wicket as the Panthers closed in on victory.

Anthony Haddrick (3/12) finished on a high for the home side with three quick wickets but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome.

Ben Stewart chimed in with 2/23.

Kangas cruise

Hallora 5/115 def. Drouin 10/114 Hallora has taken the points in their clash with Drouin after restrictin­g the Hawks to a low total.

Chris Harry (29) and Jack Jarred (25) threatened to build a bigger total but with only two other batsmen getting past ten the home side were lucky to reach triple figures.

Michael Harrison enjoyed his best spell of the season with the ball claiming 4/30.

Thomas Kent, Brian Campbell and Gary Donoghue chipped in with two wickets apiece.

In response Gavin Mills (4/22) caused some headaches for the Kangas but Stuart Kendall (41), Thomas Kent (28 not out) and Barry Heywood (20) saw the visitors safely home in the 30th over.
