Hawks pile on the runs for big total

Choosing to bat first the Jumping Jacks rallied after losing two early wickets to be 3/49.

Darren Vandenberg­e found his rhythm at this stage and for the second time this season decimated the opposition­s batting with a seven-wicket haul (7/27).

Mick O’Neill picked up 2/15 from the other end as the Jumping Jacks were routed for 82.

Peter Galvin kept up his good form top scoring with 40 with Jake Jeffrey adding 11.

In reply the Titans went out with the intention of quickly passing the target.

Allistair Bliss lead the charge with 36 but in similar circumstan­ces to the Jindivick innings only Vandenberg­e (12) managed to reach double figures as the visitor was bowled out with a six-run lead.

Tim Jeffrey snared 4/44 from 12 overs with support from Jake Jeffrey 2/4 and Zane McMillan 2/2.

Batting for a second time with four overs to go, Christian Stacey (seven not out) and Jake Jeffrey (14) made a much better start.

Outright wins are never easy to achieve but Garfield/Tynong have a real chance of making it happen.

Felstead stars

Hallora 10/146 vs. Ellinbank 2/113 Ellinbank stalwart Peter Felstead has starred with bat and ball to put the Eagles in a commanding position going into day two.

Coming on midway through the innings Felstead took less than four overs to wrap up the Kangas tail, to finish with 4/5 off 22 deliveries.

Ryan Mcguiness 2/27 and Lachlan Auldist 2/35 made the early breakthrou­ghs.

Jeff Ward top scored for the home side with 57 at the top of the order along with Darren Welford (24).

In reply Felstead took charge with the bat, opening the innings and quickly making his way to 38.

Samuel Pratt (23) lent good support with Charlie Stern (26 not out) and Ryan Mcguiness (11 not out) set to take up the chase when play resumes.

Joseph Youngman claimed both wickets.

With only 37 runs needed for victory Ellinbank have to be favourites.
