Coster leads Kangas

Hallora 8/265 (cc) vs. Buln Buln Halloran opener Barry Coster was also a centurion at the weekend.

Coster has been a consistent performer for the Kangas in recent years and on Saturday he received the ultimate reward for his effort.

Unhurried at the crease, he worked the ball around the field, finding gaps while waiting to pounce on anything loose (17 boundaries). His 130 proved invaluable to the visitors being almost half of the eventual total of 265.

Opening partner Stuart Kendall (36) looked dangerous before having his stumps rattled by Jack Symes.

A middle order slump saw the run rate drop before Shayne Kearney (25) helped his side to reach a defendable total.

Symes battled hard all day delivering 28 overs to finish with 4/93 with the remaining wickets evenly spread amongst the bowlers.

This should be a great contest with the potential to shape the top four.

Early wickets will be the key for the Kangas as the Lyrebirds can take the game away from the opposition once they get settled. Expect a close one.

Larkman plays anchor

Jindivick 5/256 (cc) vs. Yarragon A defiant 91 not out to Kevin Larkman has seen Jindivick post a reasonable total against Yarragon.

Coming to the crease at 2/48, Larkman worked hard to form partnerships and keep the scoreboard ticking over.

He was soon joined by Daryl Bagnall (50) and the pair added 95 for the fifth wicket.

Nicholas Bagnall (27 not out) provided good support late in the day, ensuring the Jumping Jacks faced out their allotted overs.

Zac Regester added some firepower to the Panthers bowling stocks, claiming 2/47 off 17 overs, along with Dale Norton who picked up 2/75 off 20.

Jake Green helped to tighten the screws bowling six maidens in a 12 over spell that yielded just 10 runs.

Having been the form side all year Jindivick will be confident of taking the points here but they will need to dismiss Norm Evans and Jake Green cheaply to have the best shot.
