Slow start proves costly

A slow start cost Neerim District Bowling Club’s division two midweek pennant team on Tuesday, losing to Traralgon RSL 67/69.

Elizabeth Hodge (skip), Julie Adams, Dianne Tame and Gerald Winter were behind all game against J. Lee’s team and lost 14/28.

Pat Fraser-Aurisch (skip), Thelma Schroeder, Dot Eastwell and Kevin Aurisch were behind for half the game against P. Warfe’s team before coming up to win 36/19.

Karren Sheers (skip), Marion Willis, Mal Collins and Maureen Halligan were behind all game against E. Murie’s team. They improved to only lose 17/22.

Saturday

Division one: Neerim District lost to Warragul 63/111. Shane Hogan (skip), Karren Sheers, Roger Gouge and Chris Hogan lost 14/31 against Clive Padgham’s team. Peter Throup (skip), Peter Brooks, Gerry Engelstad and Wes Ellis won against Ken Scammell’s team 22/17.

Neil Adams (skip), Jim Fallon, Bill Cook and Bruc Mironow lost 14/36 against Matt Schreyer’s team.

Angus McGillivray (skip), Pat Fraser-Aurisch, Ros Pollard and Gerry Melling lost against Gary John son’s team 13/27.

Division four: Neerim District lost to Morwel 89/104.

Tom Goodwin (skip), Steve Halligan, Greg Bond and Maureen Halligan were behind most of th game but came up to win 25/22 against R Anstey’s team.

Gerald Winter (skip), Jim Schroeder, Diann Tame and George Rymer were level with D White’s team at afternoon tea but lost 18/27.

Elizabeth Hodge (skip), Brendan Sheers, Thelm Schroeder and Colin McKay were behind most o the game but came up to draw 23-all against I Auld’s team.

Russell Meehan (skip), Jason Beecroft, Marion Willis and Kevin Aurisch were behind most of th game against R. Borrodale’s team and lost 23/32.
