Longwarry convincing

Longwarry bowlers proved convincing winners on Saturday.

Division three travelled to Traralgon to play Traralgon RSL and came home 67-shot winners, while division six travelled to Warragul and won by 11 shots.

Division three: Longwarry 20/136 defeated Traralgon RSL 0/69.

Mark Serong, Lloyd Maisey, Ken White and Russell White (skip) defeated N. Ellery’s team 24/21.

In a tightly contested match throughout the day, Longwarry played well as a team to get home by three shots.

Ian Peterson, Grant Pask, Judy Eastwell and Slim Eastwell (skip) defeated J. Ward’s team 41/15.

With great leading again by Ian, Longwarry got out to a big 26-shot lead at the break. After tea, it was an even contest but Longwarry had done the damage early to be King Rink and win by 26 shots.

Simon Counsel, Kevin Campbell, Hogg Mitchell and Hank Metselaar (skip) defeated G. Asbury’s team 33/15.

Longwarry went into the break four shots ahead. They played well as a team after tea, with classic Kev a standout to record a convincing 18-shot win.

Glenn Pask, Elio Meggetto, Kenneth Towt and Barry White (skip) defeated F. Metcalf’s team 38/18.

Longwarry went into the break one shot up. They won 10 of the last 11 ends in a great team effort to win by 20 shots.

Division six: Longwarry 9/61 defeated Warragul 1/50.

Reg Dunn, Ron Sutton, Gerry Wakefield and Brian Mason (skip) defeated Alan Potter’s team 33/22.

The game was all tied up at the main break. Longwarry came out and played well to record a strong 11-shot win.

Graham Sparks, Eddy Bluck, John Watts and Eric Peterson (skip) drew Tony Peter’s team 28-all.

In a tightly contested game, Longwarry led for most of the day but couldn’t quite hold on with a drawn result.
