Survey to rate shire

-

Local residents will soon have the opportunity to rate Baw Baw Shire’s performance.

The annual community satisfaction survey on local government performance will begin this month and will run for two to three weeks.

A random selection of residents will be contacted until surveyors receive 400 valid responses.

In some cases the researchers may ask to speak to someone in the household of a specific age or gender to ensure a cross section of residents are represented.

The survey is being undertaken by JWS Research and National Field Services on behalf of Local Government Victoria to determine residents’ views of council’s performance over the past 12 months.

Mayor Joe Gauci said the survey results were a vital part of council’s future planning.

“Council provides over a hundred different services to our community each year. The results of the survey help us to understand whether these services meet the needs of our growing community or if there is room for improvement.

“As a new council group it’s really important that we hear from the community on how they feel council is performing as we start to set our sights on the future planning of our four year term. If you receive a phone call over the next few weeks I encourage you to take five to ten minutes to let us know how Council has performed over the past 12 months,” Cr Gauci said.
