Division five: Garfield defeated Warragul 85/55.

Bob Lamport’s team started well, up 7/0 on the third. They lost a four on the fourth but only lost two singles in the next seven to go into the break 17/6. Garfield only lost two more ends on the way to a great win. Warragul lost to a better team, Garfield winning 36/14.
Damian Brick’s team was eight-all on the ninth and went in at the break up 10/8. Garfield was down 12/13 on the 16th but drew away to be up 20/13 on the 19th. However, Warragul came back strongly, winning five of the next six ends. In a hard fought game, Warragul got up to win 26/21.
Wes Goodman’s team was level early but drew away to be up 13/6 at the break. Garfield lost the first three ends but were still up 13/11 on the 14th. They only lost three ends from there for a great win 28/15. Results: Bob Lamport (skip), Don Knight, Gary Helemore and Rod Hackett defeated Tony Peters’ team won 36/14. Damian Brick (skip), Adrian Helmuth, Phil Humphreys and Bob Hope lost to Chris Wilkins’ team 21/26. Wes Goodman (skip), Gordon Moxey, Jill Rouse and Jim Boucher defeated Len Duncan’s team 28/15.
Division six: Garfield lost to Warragul 41/42.

Judy Pocklington’s team started well with a four on the first but Warragul fought back to be up 11/6 on the ninth. In a tight game, Garfield was only down by a shot on the 17th but Warragul kept going to be up 17/13 on the 19th. Scores were 19-all on the 24th before Garfield won 21/19.
Maureen Lamport’s team was in a tight game early, holding the lead 8/4 on the seventh and 13/7 at the break. In a hard fought game, teams went end for end until the 22nd. Garfield was up 20/16 before Warragul got level at 20-all on the 24th and got the win. Garfield went down 20/23.
