Owner follows stolen car

A Warragul resident who woke when he heard a car being stolen from his garage early Saturday morning, attempted to follow the offenders in a second car.

Baw Baw CIU detectives are investigat­ing the burglary and theft of a car from a property in Ashdown Drv, Warragul.

The incident occurred at about 1am when four offenders entered an unlocked garage door before entering a residentia­l premises through a second unlocked internal door.

Once inside, detectives said offenders stole keys to a silver 2015 Holden station wagon with registrati­on AKA 778.

Detectives said the offenders used a remote control to open the garage door and drive out of the garage.

The victim was woken by the vehicle and followed the stolen vehicle in his second vehicle to the Princes Fwy where he lost sight of the vehicle. Anyone with informatio­n that may assist investigat­ions should contact Baw Baw CIU detectives or Crimestopp­ers 1800 333000.

A Holden Commodore sedan and Holden utility were stolen during two separate thefts of cars at Buln Buln and Neerim South recently. Police are investigat­ing the two incidents. A 2006 orange Holden Commodore valued at $8500 was stolen from a carport in Dwyerstead St, Buln Buln.

The theft occurred between 10am on Tuesday and 2pm on Sunday. The car’s registrati­on is ZJZ509. Police also are investigat­ing the theft of a 1998 white Holden utility stolen from a property in Main Rd, Neerim South on Tuesday.

Registrati­on of the vehicle is PCY174. The utility is valued at $2600.
