Season over for Drouin bowlers

Drouin’s season is over after its division three team lost to Traralgon RSL on Saturday.

Playing at Yallourn, Drouin was down by 29 shots at the break and never got back into the game. The final score was 87/107 to put Drouin out of the finals.

Drouin was just out of reach, trailing by seven shots after the fifth end, 17 after the 10th, 29 after 15th and 20 after 20 ends. Results: Russell Dawson, Matt Eccles, Tim Anderson and Noel Rubenstein (skip) lost to J. Ward’s team 13/33.

Andrew Blaby, Mal Anderson, Pauline Appleyard and Graham Woolstencroft (skip) defeated N. Ellery’s team 25/23.

Terry McFadzean, Margaret Rhodes, Phil Jarred and David Tayles (skip) defeated F. Metcalf’s team 32/19. The 13shot win would have given David’s team king rink.

Samantha Atkinson, Graham Cocks, Peter Wood and Colin Jeffrey (skip) lost to D. Hobson’s team 17/32.

Tuesday

The last home and away match for the season saw a close loss for division one, a big loss for division two and a win for division four.

Unfortunately, none of the Drouin Tuesday pennant teams made the finals.

Division one: Drouin 2/65 lost to Trafalgar 14/66.

Margaret Ratcliffe (skip), Gwen Price, Graeme Cocks and Col Jeffrey lost 15/26.

Denise Hamilton (skip), Lyn Jeffrey, Lyn Rippon and Mary Firth lost 18/28.

Maureen Leighton (skip), Sheryl Atkinson, Margaret Rhodes and Les Firth won 32/12.

Division two: Drouin 0/40 lost to Neerim District 16/101.

Margaret Schofield (skip), Trish Cole, Jan Johnson and Jenny Cocks lost 13/37.

Myra Bethune (skip), Jenny Woolard, Maria Wans and Helen Gaff lost 13/30.

Irene Dawson (skip), Dini Hone, Chris Attrill and Lorraine Fox lost 14/34.

Division four: Drouin 10/48 defeated Longwarry 2/38.

Faye Halligan (skip), Janet Caulfield, Maureen McMillan and Mary Hogan lost 21/24.

Kath Dixon (skip), Lorraine Kinrade, Merv Appleyard and Maureen Brunet won 27/14.
