Division 4

Yarragon 10/319 def. Hallora 10/296 A blistering century to Dale Norton has seen Yarragon take the points over Hallora.

Coming to the crease at 5/165 and with the match in the balance, Norton wasted little time getting settled and soon had the scoreboard ticking over rapidly.

Just under 20 overs later and after striking 14 fours and five sixes Norton (104) was celebrating not only his first ton for the Panthers but also a well-earned win.

Earlier in the day Jake Green (73) and Daniel Loft (36) set a solid foundation with an 85-run third wicket stand, while Adam Mazza (28) and Norm Evans (22) provided good support throughout the chase.

Michael Harrison (3/52) and Brian Campbell (3/73) shared the bowling honours and Ross Donoghue chipped in with two wickets.

Bagnall cleans up

Jindivick 10/207 def. Buln Buln 10/101 Career best figures of 6/56 to Nicholas Bagnall has helped Jindivick to a big win over Buln Buln.

Resuming at 2/20 the Lyrebirds batsman struggled to get going with wickets falling at regular intervals.

Matthew Burdett offered firm resistance to top score with 43 but apart from Daniel Sell (22 not out) there was little joy for the visitors as Bagnall cleaned up the middle and lower order to finish with his maiden five wicket haul.

Kevin Larkman gave a handy cameo performance to claim 3/15 off six overs.

Titans fall short

Neerim District 8/266 (cc) def. Garfield/Tynong 10/184

Neerim District proved to be too good for Garfield/Tynong taking out a comfortable 82-run win.

The Titans got off to a shaky start before Mark Cousin (38) and Jason Neville (22) steadied the ship.

Another flurry of wickets that saw the home side lose 5/23, which seemed to put the result beyond doubt but Wayne Danks and James Francs weren’t going down without a fight.

With scores of 81 and 88 in his past two innings, Danks run of exceptional form continued as the all-rounder top scored with 41. Francs was solid at the other end and finished the day on 25 not out.

Matthew Ward did the bulk of the work with the ball, sending down 24 overs for a return of 4/56. Cameron Law picked up 4/59 and Lachlan Burn snared 2/52.
