Capacity crowd fills Tetoora Road Hall

-

The hills around Tetoora Road were certainly alive with the sound of music as the first of West Gippsland Arts Centre’s Daylight Entertainment performances was hosted at the Tetoora Road Hall.

With a sold-out crowd filling a capacity of 120 seats, the audience thrilled to the sound of Mario Lanza’s dulcet tones brought to life by Roy Best, Alison Jones and narrator Chris McKenna in “Lanza Sings Again”.

Due to closure of the West Gippsland Arts Centre for redevelopment works, Daylight Entertainment or midday melodies shows are being held in outlying halls. Tetoora Road Hall had the opportunity to host this first event.

Event co-ordinator Margaret McDonald from Tetoora Road was excited by the level of interest shown in the event.

“We live out of town because we think we live in the most beautiful part of West Gippsland, and it’s exciting to be able to share that with other people,” said Ms McDonald. “The performance was beautiful, to complement the beautiful and traditional environment of our almost 100-year-old hall.”

She said everything went extremely well from carparking to the performance and country hospitality.

West Gippsland Arts Centre chartered a bus to transport some audience members to the event free of charge, while others drove themselves just the 15-minute drive south of Warragul to enjoy the event.

Halls in Jindivick, Darnum, Neerim South, Trafalgar, Labertouche, Narracan, Neerim Junction, Seaview and Yarragon will host events as well as Wesley of Warragul during the “Outside the Walls” themed 2017 program.
