Panthers’ top order impress
He blasted a staggering 131 at the top of the order to rapidly propel the Crow’s total upwards, with his side reaching 7-176 from 19.4 overs before the game was ended.
Hawks thump Iona
Drouin (8-426) def. Iona (131): Drouin enjoyed a comfortable warmup for finals with a massive 295-run win over Iona; the Swamp Tigers well and truly outclassed in their final outing of the summer.
Able to field just nine batsmen, Iona were never in the hunt in their pursuit of a massive 8-426, especially after star batsmen Mick Taylor was removed for just two.
The remaining batsmen did their best to enjoy a final flurry at the crease – with Michael Neilson (27) and Sam Accardi (23*) the pick of the batsmen – but after just 38.5 overs Iona found themselves dismissed for 138.
Chris Harry (2-38) was the pick of the bowlers for Drouin, with Dale Kelly also starring with his removal of Taylor and Andrew Harrison rounding out a solid match with two late wickets.
Barnes leads Buln
Buln Buln (9-262) def. Jindivick (182): A five-wicket haul to Glenn Barnes has helped Buln Buln to a big 80-run win over Jindivick, with the Lyrebirds hot favourites to repeat the dose against the Jumping Jacks in their semi-final clash next weekend.
Having posted 9-262 the previous week, Buln were always in the box-seat in their encounter, and a disciplined bowling performance ensured that Jindivick never looked likely with the bat.
Matt Gooden (1-53 from 23) applied constant pressure, while Pollard and Waddell also applied themselves effectively with the ball.
It was Barnes however who enjoyed the spoils, and his haul of 5-31 saw the Jumping Jacks dismissed for 182 in the 66th over.
