Buln’s big win

Buln Buln 7/281 (cc) def. Drouin 10/108

Buln Buln has wrapped up their season with a big win over Drouin.

Choosing to bat first the Lyrebirds were forced to work hard early after losing both openers for nought.

Sean Symes (34) and Sam Langford (23) made good starts to help get the visitor back in the contest, but it was a seventh wicket partnership between Daniel Sell and John Rowe that gave them the upper hand.

The pair put on 160 before Sell (123) holed out in the final over having made a fantastic century. Rowe finished with 55 not out.

Sam Perry (2/53) and Thomas Wyatt (2/33) were the pick of the bowlers.

In reply an undermanned Hawks outfit struggled to get going.

Thomas Wyatt (36) top scored for the home side with good support from Andrew Downie (25) but a lack of runs from the rest of the order saw them bundled out well short of the target.

Jacob Daff (2/43), Matthew Burdett (2/10), and Brendan Wall (2/8) all got amongst the wickets.

Larkman stuns Bulls

Jindivick 10/132 def. Bunyip 10/117 An amazing spell from Kevin Larkman has helped Jindivick pull off a tight win over Bunyip.

With the result in the balance Larkman delivered three overs without conceding a run while picking up three scalps. Michael Haddrick (31) kept the home sides chances alive for much of the day before Larkman got one through his defences.

Steven McGillivray chimed in with 2/10 off six overs and Shane Hoskins finished with 2/46.

Panthers dominate

Yarragon 9/223 (dec) def. Neerim District 10/140 and 6/100

Neerim District has narrowly avoided losing outright to Yarragon.

Resuming at 1/40 the Panthers came out full of intent with Jake Green (34) and Clinton Madden (35) scoring regular boundaries.

Dale Norton’s form continued as he blasted 56 (nine fours and three sixes) and Norm Evans chipped in with 35.

Lachlan Burn was the pick of the bowlers with 3/25. Matthew Ward and Kidman Johnstone chipped in with two apiece. Batting for a second time the Stags offered firm resistance with Brad Fusinato (42) top scoring.

Jake Green snared 2/40 with the new ball ably supported by Norm Evans with 2/9.
