Empowering at community house

-

Empowerment was the theme of a Warragul Community House luncheon to mark International Women’s Day.

A group of almost 30 women gathered for the special event which featured guest speaker Teresa Mitchell who shared anecdotes and pop up poet Liz Dorsett.

Warragul Community House administration coordinator Judy Watson said the luncheon embraced the United Nation’s theme “Empower a Woman, Empower a Nation”.

The event also incorporated the house’s weekly “Connecting Community and Newcomers” group.

Ms Watson said this saw attendees socialise and learn from other women that they might not usually meet.

“It was very enjoyable,” said Ms Watson.
