Managing Director Leigh Marino has teamed up with Lardner Park’s CEO Nicola Pero and her team, to bring a fresh approach to the venue’s catering.

Last Thursday’s annual Baw Baw Shire Gala Awards was a huge success under the passionate direction of Leigh Marino, along with talented Head Chef, Sam Kelly and Function Coordinator, Cheryl Stubbings, both with excellent experience at Lardner Park.

“I am surrounded by a great team who understand the processes and intricacies of catering for such large scale functions. Baw Baw Gala Dinner showcased this.

“We have an exciting few months ahead with the monster event that is Farm World and a number of deb balls.

“Our food is approachable with the fine dining influences of Big Spoon Little Spoon being apparent.

This is a big project which my team and I are aiming to continually improve over the next 2-3 years,” said Leigh Marino.

Nicola Pero added, “Lardner Park’s business in events will continue to grow, but in the area of conferences and weddings particularly there is huge opportunity. With Big Spoon Group’s passion and dedication to quality we can create the unique food and beverage experience I’m looking for in our future. It’s important for us to design our food and beverage future around promoting regional produce, with a focus on Gippsland and other Victorian wines. People want connection to their food and the way it is prepared – they want to be a part of that story. We’re thrilled to be pairing up the experience of Sam and Cheryl, together with the vision and passion that Leigh brings.”

The Big Spoon Group is excited to be working in great venues such as Lardner Park, Drouin Golf Club and the newly renovated and hugely successful Courthouse Restaurant & Garden Bar in Warragul.
