Youth Week Activities

-

These School Holidays, the Trafalgar Youth Resource Centre Inc. is bringing professional artists from across Victoria to offer creative workshops for youth under 18 years.

Photographers Christine McFetridge-Read and Mike Read from Melbourne will visit Trafalgar on Tuesday April 4th with free photography workshops. These will allow young people to improve their skills at taking photos on smart phones and tablets especially for use on social media, while on Wednesday April 5th Roger Terrill from Rokeby will host African Drumming workshops with a range of drum types and no musical experience needed.

Young people are encouraged to participate in both days’ workshops, trying different forms of creativity, with sessions being hosted at Trafalgar House, 9 Contingent St, Trafalgar, close to V/Line trains or coffee shops for parents to enjoy after dropping participants off.

Trained volunteers supervise events, with everyone holding a WWC as child safety is an important part of the programs.

The Trafalgar Youth Resource Centre, who are supported by the Trafalgar Opp Shop and Trafalgar High School, welcome all young people from Trafalgar and beyond to participate and meet professional artists during National Youth Week 2017.

The workshops are offered free thanks to funding from National Youth Week and the Victorian State Government. RSVPs are essential to David Lyons on 0409 015 662 or lyons.david.c@edumail.vic.gov.au
